I represent Mary Lindsay McCumming, enumerated as “Mrs. McCumming” in the Return of Women & Children of the 31st Regiment, Maj. Bromley‘s company, in Sept 1768. The Return does not list my husband’s name, and though it indicates I had four children, it does not name any of them. Genealogical research reveals my husband was Bryce McCumming who was commissioned Quartermaster of the 31st in 1772. We had four children by 1768: James, John, Margaret, and Jane. I died in 1804 in Montreal.
