Alexis

Child silhouetteRepresent this individual

I represent Alexis. I was an enslaved child of mixed race born about 1764. I was the child of Pierre Rochon Sr. and his enslaved mistress, Marianne. The Rochons were an old, wealthy family in Mobile who were planters, shipbuilders, and carpenters, and owned real estate in Pensacola. I was manumitted by an instrument dated March 20, 1770. I was five and a half years old.
