I represent one of two children of “Mrs. Shocklidge” enumerated with her in the Return of Women & Children, 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Hamilton’s Company, Sept 1768. The Return did not name our father or give our mother a first name, but further research reveals she was Rebecca Shockledge and he was Cpl. William Shockledge. Research on my name is ongoing.
