I represent Archibald Hamilton. I was a captain (commissioned April 1765) and company commander in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot. The 31st was an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. We arrived in 1765 and immediately suffered immense losses due to diseases like yellow fever and dysentery. We were in Pensacola from 1765 – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – to 1772.
