Sue

I represent Sue. I was a woman of color enslaved by Gilbert Hay. He was a planter who arrived with his wife, six children and five enslaved people in 1768. He settled on a tract of land on the Mobile River in 1772, but later was granted 1000 acres on the Mississippi River below Pointe Coupee. By instrument dated June 28, 1774, he used me as security on a debt to Messrs. McGillivray & Struthers .
