I represent David Haigh. I was the son of John and Alice Haigh, who arrived in Pensacola as settlers from England in 1769 with my four older siblings and two servants. They petitioned for a grant of 1,000 acres of land to raise livestock. I was baptized – most likely as an infant – on May 1, 1770. My father, tragically, died of consumption [tuberculosis] on January 16, 1771.
