Alice Haigh

I represent Alice Haigh. I arrived in Pensacola as a settler from England in 1769 with my husband, John, our four children and two servants. We petitioned for a grant of 1,000 acres of land to raise livestock. In the meantime, we had another child: David was baptized May 1, 1770. My husband’s aspirations were cut short; John died of consumption [tuberculosis] on January 16, 1771.
