I represent George Murray. I was a corporal in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Captain Varlo‘s company. The 31st was an infantry regiment that came to Pensacola in 1765 and stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. I was married to Edie Murray, and we had a daughter named Elizabeth. Elizabeth was baptized – probably as an infant – on August 15, 1768. According to the Return of Women & Children of the 31st Regiment in September 1768, Edie and I had another child, whose name was not given.
