Blind Billy

I represent Blind Billy, a man of color enslaved by Captain William Johnstone of the Royal Artillery in British Pensacola. In March 1781, Captain Johnstone leased thirty enslaved people to the Ordnance Board to help with the defense of Pensacola. Most of us were valued at $300 each, except me – I was worth only $200.
