Adam Humphries

I represent Adam Humphries. I served in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1765 and stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. I was married to Margaret Humphries, and we had a son named Richard. Richard was baptized – probably as an infant – on December 16, 1768. It is possible Margaret is the Mrs. Humphries enumerated in the Return of Women & Children, 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Varlo‘s Company, Sept 1768; if so, Richard is one of the two unnamed children enumerated with her.
