I represent Carlos Girar. By the time of the 1820 Spanish census of Pensacola, I was a free man of color. I was born about 1766 in Mobile, which would mean I was a child during the British period in West Florida. My enslavement status during this time is unknown. At the time of the 1820 census, I was 54 years old and worked as a blacksmith. I lived alone.
