I represent Madeleine. I was a woman of color and the mother of Genevieve. We were enslaved by Thomas Bentley. By instrument dated June 19, 1774, he used me (along with my daughter, and Collins, who may have been my husband) as security on a debt to Messrs. McGillivray and Struthers.
