I represent Corporal Garci. I was a man of color who served as second in command of the black Company of Petit Jean – Compañia de Negros de la Mobila. Our company was organized by Gen. Bernardo de Gálvez when he got to Mobile. While we were a small company, we are mentioned frequently in the records of this time. I served under Gálvez at the siege of Pensacola in 1781.
