I represent William Perkins. I was private in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Archibald Hamilton‘s company The 31st was an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. We arrived in 1765, and the rest of the regiment stayed (with a brief transfert o St. Augustine in 1769) until it was transferred out of West Florida in 1772. I died on October 20, 1766 of consumption [tuberculosis], one of the many diseases that swept through the population of Pensacola in the early years of the colony. I likely still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
