I represent Mary Mant. I was a resident of the British colony of West Florida. I was the married to James Mant and was the mother of two sons named James; the elder James was baptized on April 16, 1769 and drowned on September 8, 1770. The second child named James was baptized December 19, 1770. By 1776. My husband had a couple of land grants in the desirable Mississippi Valley. One of the petitions said he had lived in the Province for 11 years and had one child – I am not accounted for, which could be an oversight but may mean I had died by then.
