I represent Joseph Antonio Colón. I served Gen. Bernardo de Gálvez as a grenadier from Cuba during the Pensacola campaign. In 1789 I was accused by a wealthy white merchant of raping his wife. Without a trial, I was tied up and whipped to death. It was a sign of how quickly Spanish New Orleans forgot our service.
