Jane Pilott

I represent Jane Pilott, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Digby Pilott. My father was a lieutenant of His Majesty’s 31st Regiment and Fort Major of the garrison at Pensacola. Our family arrived in Pensacola in 1765. I had three sisters: Elizabeth, Catherine Mary, and Judith Henrietta. Catherine Mary died during the yellow fever epidemic in 1765 soon after the family arrived; she was only a year old. I was born in March or April 1766 and baptized by Rev. Peter Levrier. Elizabeth was born in Pensacola and baptized on January 13, 1769. Judith was baptized October 8, 1770. Lt. Governor Montfort Browne was my godfather, and gave me a land lot about a mile outside of Pensacola where the Pilot family frequently went to relax and hold picnics.
