I represent James Maxwell. I was stationed in the garrison at Pensacola with His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot, having arrived with the regiment in the spring of 1770. I was married to Mary Maxwell, and we had a son named James. James was baptized as an infant on October 8, 1770. He died on October 12. He probably still lies in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
