I represent Winifred Allen. My husband, George, was stationed in the garrison at Pensacola with His Majesty’s16th Regiment of Foot. We arrived with the regiment in the spring of 1770. We lost two infant daughters that year: Mary, who died on July 1, 1770 at 3 years old, and her younger sister Anne Margaret, who was baptized on August 5, 1770 but died on November 12. They probably both still lie in unmarked graves in Pensacola.
