I represent John McGervis. I was a soldier in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Captain Archibald Hamilton‘s company. The 31st was an infantry company; we joined the garrison in Pensacola in 1765 and we stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. I died on March 26, 1767. No cause of death was given. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola
