I represent Joseph Agustín. I was a man of color who served the black Company of Petit Jean – Compañia de Negros de la Mobila. Our company was organized by Gen. Bernardo de Gálvez when he got to Mobile. While we were a small company, commanded by Petit John, an enslaved man of Mobile, we are mentioned frequently in the records of this time. We served under Gálvez at the siege of Pensacola in 1781.
