Nicholas Adams

I represent Nicholas Adams. I was a private in the West Florida Royal Foresters, a company of light cavalry raised by Maj. Gen. John Campbell in March 1780 and commanded by Adam Chrystie. We fought against the Spanish at such notable battles as Baton Rouge, Mobile, and the Siege of Pensacola. After the surrender of Pensacola, I and the survivors of the siege were sent to New Town, Long Island (now part of Queens). I continued to serve in my regiment and was counted on the final extant muster roll taken in New York in June 1782.
