I represent William Hiscox. I was a private in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. Thomas Varlo‘s company. The 31st was an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. We arrived in 1765 and immediately suffered immense losses due to diseases like yellow fever and dysentery. I died at Pensacola on May 27, 1767, likely from illness, and probably still lie in an unmarked grave there.
