I represent Santiago Dauphin, a European child born in Pensacola in about 1770. In an 1811 bill of sale in which I sold my grant of Lot 227 in Pensacola to E.A. Sierra, I was described as “chief of the Foresters of this Place.” At the time of the 1820 census of Pensacola, I was 50 years old, single, and living in the household of my brother-in-law, Don Eugenio A. Sierra, a surgeon. My occupation is listed as Guide. My death is recorded in the burial records of St. Michael’s parish: February 7, 1845, at about 80 years of age.
