Margaret Craig

I represent Margaret Craig. My husband, Robert, was attached to His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. We arrived at the garrison of Pensacola in the spring of 1770. We had a daughter, Mary, who died of “decay” on 31 AUG 1770. (“Decay” was used to describe a slow decline in health that could have been caused by a number of conditions that were unknown in the 18th century.) Mary probably still lies in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
