Robert Craig

I represent Robert Craig. I was attached to His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot, which arrived at the garrison of Pensacola in the spring of 1770. My wife’s name was Margaret. We had a daughter, Mary, who died of “decay” on 31 AUG 1770. (“Decay” was used to describe a slow decline in health that could have been caused by a number of conditions that were unknown in the 18th century.) Mary lies in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
