I represent George Brown. I was a physician and surgeon attached to the army in Pensacola. I had been in the colony since the beginning, working with Dr. John Lorimer as early as 1764 in the struggle to keep newly arriving soldiers alive in the waves of disease that befell them. I was elected to represent Pensacola in the House of Commons for the 4th West Florida General Assembly in 1769 and the 5th in 1771. I appear in the 1767-1768 ledger book of the Carpenter brothers, merchants in Pensacola, having purchased molasses.
