I represent Edward William Bentham. I was an ensign in His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. I arrived with the regiment in the spring of 1770. The records show a Sarah Bentham, wife of an ensign in the 16th, died of flux on September 3, 1770; it is highly likely Sarah Bentham was my wife.
