Sarah Bentham

I represent Sarah Bentham. I was a resident of Pensacola, and my husband, probably Edward William Bentham, was attached to the garrison as an Ensign with His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. I died of flux (a term used to describe a severe form of dysentery) on September 3, 1770; We had only just arrived with the Regiment in spring of that year. I probably still lie buried in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
