Alexander Urrie

I represent Alexander Urrie. I was a drummer in His Majesty’s 31s Regiment of Foot, Capt. Archibald Hamilton‘s company. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison of Pensacola in 1765, and we immediately began sustaining losses to illnesses like yellow fever and dysentery. I died of scurvy – a disease of malnutrition – on December 16, 1766. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
