I represent Robert Porter. I was a corporal in His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. We joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1770. I was married to Mary Porter, and we had two daughters: Mary and Anne. Anne was baptized – probably as an infant – on December 4, 1770. Little Mary died on January 11, 1771 of dropsy/scurvy at the age of 4. She probably still lies in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
