I represent Anne Porter, daughter of Robert and Mary Porter. My father was a corporal in His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. They and my older sister, Mary, joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1770. I was baptized – probably as an infant – on Decmeber 4, 1770. My sister died of dropsy/scurvy at the age of 4 on January 11, 1711.
