Dr. Jonathan Ogden

I represent Jonathan Ogden. I was a doctor and Assistant Surgeon to Dr. John Lorimer at Ft. George during the siege of Pensacola. I became a prisoner of war at the moment of the British surrender on 10 MAY 1781. We continued our medical work, providing care to the wounded of the Redoubt, British and Spanish alike. In September 1772, I was granted 600 acres of land in Natchez. My wife, Mary, also had a grant in her own name, 500 acres on Fairchild’s Creek (also near Natchez) in 1776. In 1778 we sold all our lands.
