William Miller

I represent William Miller. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British colonial period. I was a carpenter by trade. In 1767, I purchased pork, shingles, ship bread, and rum from Pensacola merchants Richard and Caleb Carpenter. I died on May 19, 1771, when I was 35 years old. The cause of death was asthma, though that term did not mean the specific condition that it does today – it could have been anything that caused labored breathing, including heart failure or pulmonary infection. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Penscola.
