I represent Samuel Dry. I served in His Majesty’s 21st Regiment of Foot. The regiment was garrisoned in Mobile and Pensacola from 1765 to 1770. I died on January 27, 1769, most likely from illness – diseases like yellow fever, dysentery and even scurvy were rampant among the British troops in the early years of the colony. I probably still lie buried in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
