I represent Robert Wans. I served in His Majesty’s 16th Regiment of Foot. The 16th joined the garrison of Pensacola in spring 1770. My wife was Catherine Wans, and we had a daughter named Elenor. Elenor died in childhood on July 21, 1770. She probably still lies in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
