I represent Robert Collins, a resident of Pensacola during the British Colonial Period. I was Deputy Provost Marshal for the Province. The Provost Marshal was the official in charge of security and law enforcement, sometimes in both the military and civilian realms. On April 1, 1766, I swore an affidavit that I had heard of a planned armed rebellion in Pensacola against the Stamp Act, which had recently been passed by Parliament. This rebellion never came to fruition, if it ever existed at all outside of rumor. I owned Lot 73 in town, on the west side near several good sources of fresh water. I died on October 24, 1768 and probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
