Robert Campbell

I represent Robert Campbell. I was a soldier of His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, an infantry regiment stationed at the garrison of Pensacola. We arrived in 1765 and immediately suffered immense losses due to diseases like yellow fever and dysentery. My cause of death is not noted in the records, but I died at Pensacola on November 5, 1767. I probably still lie buried in an unmarked grave in Pensacola. It may be that I left behind a widow – there is a Mrs. Campbell listed on the Return of Women & Children of the 31st Regiment whose husband was not identified.
