Richard Thompson

I represent Richard Thompson. I served in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison of Pensacola in 1765 and stayed – with a brief transfer to St. Augustine in 1769 – until 1772. My wife, Mary, and I had a son, William, who died July 7, 1768. Mary may be the “Mrs. Thompson” that was enumerated in the Return of Women & Children, 31st Regiment of Foot, Gen. Oughton’s Company, Sept 1768. There were no children enumerated with her.
