I represent Richard Skegg. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British colonial period. In May 1779, I petitioned for a grant of 38 acres of land 4 miles northwest from what was then the town of Pensacola. My name appears on a listing of inhabitants of the town for February 1780, on which I was identified as an artificer, or skilled craftsman.
