I represent Thomas Reid. I was a private in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Maj. Edward Bromley‘s company. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison of Pensacola in 1765. I died on February 4, 1766. The cause of death was dropsy, which is an old term that describes any condition that causes edema or swelling. I likely still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
