I represent Robert Nickle. I was a private in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Maj. Edward Bromley‘s company. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison at Pensacola in 1765, and we immediately began losing men to diseases like yellow fever and dysentery. I died of dysentery on December 18 or 20 (the records differ), 1766. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
