I represent a woman known only as “Mrs. Bell.” I was on a list of householders at Pensacola at the time of the capture of the town by the Spanish in May 1781, identified as a widow. There was a Private John Bell of the 31st Regiment who died in 1767; however, there is not enough information available to know for certain who my deceased husband was.
