Mistress Hooker

I represent Mistress Hooker. I was on a list of 31st Regiment Officers’ Ladies who had died during the years 1765-1767. There was a yellow fever epidemic during that time, which probably claimed me in 1765. My husband is not named on this list, but it is likely to have been Captain William Hooker of His Majesty’s 31 Regiment of Foot. Capt. Hooker himself died in 1765 of yellow fever. We may still lie in unmarked graves in Pensacola.
