Matthew Lyons

I represent Matthew Lyons. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British colonial period. In 1765 I was granted Lot 16 in town, a nice lot on Mansfield Street between Johnstone and Cumberland (now Zarragossa Street between Baylen and Spring – if the street continued through); and at the time, it fronted on the bay. I died on June 18, 1771. The details of my death are not recorded, but an inquest was held and my death was determined to be accidental. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
