I represent Lt. Thomas Blomefield. I entered the Royal Military Academy at Woolwich in 1758 at the age of 14, and was commissioned in the Royal Artillery the following year. I participated in the capture of Martinique and Havana, and made my way up through the ranks to first lieutenant in the 2nd Battalion by 1766. I was present when the British took over Pensacola and Mobile from the Spanish, but by 1776 I had been reassigned to Canada. I returned to England in 1779, but continued service with the Artillery and was made a baron by Parliament in 1807 for my service in Copenhagen. I died on August 1822, at my home in Kent.
