Konrad Glaentzer

I represent Konrad Glaentzer. I was a provost on the staff of the 3rd Waldeck Regiment, which means I was in charge of maintaining military discipline. I was born about 1723 in Freienhagen, Waldeck Province. The 3rd Waldeck was hired by the British from Waldeck Prince Frederick Karl Augustus to assist them in fighting the American rebels in the Revolutionary War. We reached North America in 1776. After two years of heavy action we were sent to Pensacola, along with the provincial loyalist forces of Maryland and Pennsylvania, to help defend the town against the Spanish. I died of illness in the camp at Ft. George on April 17, 1779. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
