John Muckroy

I represent John Muckroy (this may have been a variant spelling of McRoy). I was a soldier in His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, Capt. John Ross’ company. The 31st was an infantry regiment that joined the garrison in Pensacola in 1765. I died on August 12, 1767. No cause of death was given in the record, but diseases like yellow fever, smallpox, and scurvy were rampant during those early years of the colony. I probably still lie in an unmarked grave in Pensacola.
