I represent John Ford, the son of Samuel and Katherine Ford. My father was attached to the garrison of Pensacola with His Majesty’s 31st Regiment of Foot, which arrived in Pensacola in 1765. I was baptized – most likely as an infant – on September 25, 1768. It is possible I am the unnamed child of Mrs. Foard who was enumerated in the Return of Women & Children of the 31st Regiment, Capt. Hodgson’s Company, in Sept 1768.
