I represent James Murray. I was a resident of Pensacola during the British period. I was a General Clerk and adjutant to Lewis Rose, Esq., who was the assistant Deputy Commissary of Fort George. My natural daughter, Maria, was baptized (probably as an infant) on November 15, 1770. Her mother’s name was Margaret Dexter. I appear on the listing of staff of the garrison of Ft. George at the surrender on 10 MAY 1781, and on the list of householders remaining at that time. I probably went with the rest of the siege survivors to New York as a prisoner of war on parole.
